30 days of stay in hospital and he was finally able to discharge! We all felt happy for him as the day he has been looking forward too finally came. He wanted to discharge asap but anytime earlier means my sisters got to take leave during weekdays and so we persuaded him to discharge him on this Saturday.
We got to get for him a walking stick as requested by his physiotherapist. My second sister and I brought him down while my eldest sister settle his discharge and medicine. The sales auntie is very nice and experienced. When my dad stood up wanting to try the walking stick, my dad's pants actually dropped by lucky the auntie managed to help him to pull in time, saving my dad from embarrassment. The pants my dad was wearing was too large in size for him but no smaller sizes available for him. In a public hospital, its already very good to have such service during my dad's stay in the hospital.
He tried the walking stick and we bought one for him. He actually did not make use fully of the walking stick as he can actually walk quite well but people advise and so we listened but as usual, he don't listen in much of the stuff.
Its still a long way to go before we can actually reached home. We need to get his medicine at pharmacy located at the emergency which the pharmacy was super small and crowded and noisy like a market. The pharmacists were all trying to converse with the patients or representatives. As we know some are aunties and uncles and so hearing not so good and so its so noisy. I also pitied the pharmacists who were handling those people.
All the medicine was cheap actually, except for one, the one for his hepatitis B. We got him the better one, S$11 per pill, one month quantity cost S$330. Really alot of money being spent but its the best for him.
Then, he demanded on going to see the Chinese physician at toa payoh, who prescribed him the smelly and can store for days medicine. Again, patient's wish come first. We went home first to put stuff from hospital first as he has got his milk powder to drink to boost his protein, adult diapers, and even a basin! We brought all the items backed because we paid for all those already.
Alot of hiccups, because he needs to go toilet all the time. On this day we tabulated roughly 10 over times he went to the toilet. This is because he was given medicine to help him to pass motion. But each trip to the toilet its only a little and sometimes not even anything but the feeling is there.
When we were finally home, he already went like 3 times before we can stepped out of the house to bring him to see his chinese physician. I even need to bring disposable panties for him. That was how serious his problem was at that point of time.
When he first used the toilet, I dared not go in actually. Fear of seeing unsightly things as the seat cover was down. My eldest sister was brave, she just went in without second thoughts. She said it was clean what. My dad acutally washed it after use so nothing dirty was left behind.
So finally seeing his chinese physician, he told him to drink the layer of water of porridge (muay) to get rid of toxins, light food like fish and vege strictly. After a while we left. My second sister went to get a cab for us while I went back to clarify my dad's condition with the physician.
He said that he knows the doctors did not remove the tumor and even added it is good that that did not remove it. He explained that the tumor is the core, the house of the cancer cells, if just remove it, the cancer would have spread even faster. I did not know how true but just want to make sure he knows what is going on exactly so the instructions given by him were according to my dad's condition.
After seeing his chinese physician, we headed down to my grandma's house for her birthday celebration. Relatives were all delighted to see my father as they have not seen him for quite a while and especially hearing that he was hospitalized before.
One last thing to mention, we met one of our neighbours and my dad actually told him that he had a fall and so caused him to be hospitalized for a month. Really is typically of him: 爱面子.
