When we visited him the next day, 2nd december, he started his stubborness again. He demanded his chinese medicine-a smelly, kept for so many days which I don't even know if the medicine still has its medicinal effects in it. But again, he demanded it means we got to get it for him.
Because he was in the high dependency ward, each room only house 4 patients for more attention, when I poured his medicine out I got to even look out for doctors and nurses as they have to be aware of what he is drinking. When the nurses asked, we just said its some herbal drink that he wants to drink. Patient's wish is always right.
There is nothing much we can do for him as he could not move too much in fear of wound opening as he takes much longer time to heal due to the lack of vitamin K. I went to research about this vitamin K, and the web says that its produced by the bacteria in our intestines. Then I thought, he hasn't been eating much where got vitamin K?
His wound produced alot of fluids also that his wound got to be changed regularly. He was also given a packet of blood. His thinking about this packet of blood is "dirty" because after he was discharged, he felt itchy all over his body.
He slowly regained his strength, starting by drinking milo only and starting to eat back a bit again and he was transferred to normal ward again. He demanded to go back ward 11C this time. Maybe its because the nurses there know his temper and so know how to handle him better.
During his stay at the high dependency ward, he said one night he saw a some sort diety figure, with two long mustaches sitting on the railing of his bed. We have no interpretation for this. Haha.
One of my uncles came too after his operation, he brought along my ah ma's angpow, a S$1000 dollars angpow. So generous of my ah ma. She cannot come to visit my dad as its not very nice for an elder to visit someone of younger generation. And because of her old age, if anything happens to her during the visit in hospital, we will be damned with alot of 难听 comments again.
